Band Brake System

Overview

The main brake system of drilling drawworks usually includes two kinds: band brake system and hydraulic disc brake system. The band brake system includes the main drum brake system and the sand drum brake system.

The function of the brake system is to slow down or brake the drums of the drilling drawworks which driven by the drill down load, so as to adjust the WOB(weight on bit), feed the drill string, control the running speed, brake and suspend the drill string.

Features

Band brakesystem is a kind of traditional braking method. It use dual-leverage force-boosting mechanism, double-sided interlocking balance structure, and It has the advantages of fast movement, large braking force and smooth braking.

The main drum brake system is used to brake the rotation of the main drum, mainly including brake rim, brake steel band, brake block, brake shaft, adjustment device, balance device, turning, turning arm, etc.

The sand drum brake system is used to brake the rotation of the sand drum, mainly including brake rim, brake handle, brake steel band, brake block, balance beam, adjusting screw and pull rod, ratchet, pawl mechanism, etc.
