Brake Rim

Overview

The brake rim is the main working component of the band brake system of the drilling drawworks, which is installed on both sides of the drum body through high-strength bolts. Brake rim can be divided into main drum brake rim and sand drum brake rim according to the application.

According to the working environment, the brake rim can be divided into two types: the brake rim with water channel and the brake rim without water channel. The brake rim without water channel is cooled by natural wind, and the brake rim with water channel is equipped with circulating cooling water channel on the inner surface of the brake rim. When the brake system works, the cooling water circulates through the channel to take away the heat generated by the friction of the brake pair.

Feature

The brake rim body is made of low carbon alloy steel forgings, which is processed after quenching and tempering treatment, and meets the requirements of low temperature environment. After the welding of cooling water channel, the sealing test and water pressure test must be carried out.

Technical Specifications

The main dimension parameters of the brake rim are the diameter and width. Generally, the diameter of brake rim are as follows: 970mm, 1,070mm, 1,168mm and 1,270 mm, and the width are as follows: 260mm, 268mm and 310mm.
