Brake Disc

Overview

The brake disc is the main working component of the hydraulic disc brake system of the drilling drawworks, which forms a brake pair with the disc brake pad.

Generally, the disc brake system of drilling drawworks is equipped with two brake discs, which are installed on both sides of the drum body through high-strength bolts. Small mobile drilling rig or workover rig can also be equipped with a brake disc, which is installed on one side of the drum body.

Feature

The disc brake system of mobile drilling rig and workover rig is divided into solid brake disc and water-cooled brake disc.

The solid brake disc is made of high-strength steel plate, which dissipates heat through the surface of the brake disc. It is generally used for small mobile drilling rig or workover rig. The water-cooled brake disc is generally used for large mobile drilling rig or workover rig.When the brake system is working, the cooling water circulates through the channel to take away the heat generated by the friction of the brake pair. 

Technical Specifications

The main dimension parameters of the brake disc are the diameter and thickness. Generally, the diameter of brake disc is 1,400mm and 1,500mm, and the thickness of brake disc is 40mm, 60mm and 70mm.
